What Customers Say About The Hollow (Sign of Seven Trilogy, Book 2):

Roberts skims the surface of the paranormal in her romantic novel. Ancient myths and legends come to the attention of the main characters as they investigate the recent activity of the resident town demon. Every seven years this black energy becomes active and plays havoc on the lives of the residents of a small town. The main character, a young man now decides that with the help of his friends this is the last time for its sinister acts no matter what the danger is to himself. Some pagan rituals such as blood letting are incorporated into the plot bringing a supernatural quality to the setting of what is predominately a romantic novel

The Hollow is book two of the Signs of Seven trilogy by Nora Roberts. In addition, as the demon gains more power, there is more action in this book. It's no surprise that the six break off into couples.

Since then, every seven years, people are driven to unthinkable acts of violence. But, book two proves better than book one. It is the story of three men who accidentally unleashed a demon, buried for three hundred years, on their tenth birthday.

I felt neutral about the first book. Cal, Fox and Gage are unaffected and left to defend the victims alone. The seven years will be up in July but; this time, there are three woman who are also connected, to help them destroy the demon once and for all.

I thought the romance between Fox and Layla was better than Cal and Quinn. Can't wait to see how the story concludes in book three.

I was curious as to how the demon was demolished so, after listening with interest (but not enthusiasm after the first half)to "Blood Brothers" I read "The Hollow," the second in this trilogy. My prediction was correct; I skipped much. This second of the trilogy is essentially the story of the likable Fox. As I said in my review of "Blood Brothers" I am not a fan of romance. I knew this was loaded with romance starting out and thus predicted I would skip over the sappy parts of this book with the end in sight. It's good that Fox is likable because there is just way too much information about every concern in his life along with excruciating dialogue and details of his romance with Layla.Since I have now read all three of the books, I have to say this is the weakest of them all. That said, I still wanted to know what happened so on to #3.

I am pretty much done with Nora Roberts after years of reading her faithfully. Why introduce this twist to the story and then not do anything with it.

Author failed to make me care about the problem, too many characters that also do not seem to matter. This series is so boring -- and this book was the worst.

For example, once Fox agreed to be the surrogate father for his sister & her partner/girlfriend's baby, shouldn't that have figured somehow into the centuries-old-evil yarn. The way these people talk is beyond annoying -- it is like somebody besides Nora wrote it.

I used to love Nora Roberts, I couldn't put her books down from first page to last. After he agreed it ceased to be a factor.

This series is wonderful. Stand by Me meets The Omen with the exception of Dynamite Characters. If you like mysterious things that go 'bump' in the night or the day this one is for you. Evil vs Good takes on a whole new meaning with this series. The town setting, the courage, and the family values makes this series a keeper. If you like Nora Robert's fantasy meets reality books you'll love this series.
